About TagBack
It started with hundreds of messages in the class chat.
Three years of the same message, from parents just like you. Something had to be done.
Sound familiar?
Every week, the same messages. Lost jumpers, missing PE kit, a coat that came home in the wrong bag. Hundreds of them, in every class chat we were in.
We bought the same blazer twice. We watched staff give up their lunchtimes to sort a pile nobody could match to a child. Nobody was doing anything wrong. It just wasn't working.
After three years of it, we decided enough was enough. And as it turned out, between us we knew exactly how to fix it.
Every side of the problem, under one roof.
TagBack began at our own kitchen table. One of us had spent another evening scrolling the class chat for a missing jumper. The other had spent the day running a mainstream school of 1,700 pupils, where the lost property pile never seemed to get any smaller.
Our co-founder has given twenty years to education and today leads that school as its head teacher. She sees the side parents never do: staff giving up their lunchtimes to sort coats nobody can match to a child, parents queuing at the office, and the end-of-term pile that goes to the second-hand shop or the donation box. She knows what a school can take on, and what it can't.
Our founder brings the other half. He builds technology for a living, from high street banking infrastructure and security-grade systems to software for global transport, where getting it wrong is never an option. He also runs a consultancy that multi-million-pound businesses call on to turn round struggling programmes of work. Between us, we understood the problem from every side, and we knew how to build the answer properly.
So we didn't start with a gadget and go looking for a use for it. We started with the problem and the people living with it, which included us, and worked backwards to the solution.
That meant beginning with the questions a head asks: is it safe, is it fair, and will it make more work for my staff? And the ones every parent asks: will it really bring my child's things home, and is my child's information safe? TagBack is our answer to both, built with the same care we'd want for our own children, because they're the first ones using it.
You're in safe hands. We're parents, we're teachers, and we've built it the way we'd want it built for ours.
Your children, and their data, are our number one priority.
We bring the same standards we use for banks to every school and nursery. A TagBack label can't be used to track a child, and we keep only what's needed to get an item home.
Impossible to track
No battery, no GPS, no location. A label only says “this is ours” when it's held to a TagBack reader.
Nothing on the label
Labels carry a code, never a name. Names stay private unless you choose to share them.
Protected like a bank
The data security we use for banking, applied to your family. UK GDPR compliant, with nothing sold, ever.
We'd love to hear from you.
